Defence Academy Chennai (DAC) not just trains aspirants for the #Armedforces, it grooms the future officers by making them visualise the fascinating career in #uniformedservices.

This can be effectively done by making them interact with decorated officers in the #forces.
Armed forces aspirants from http://www.defenceacademychennai.com/ interacted with #Colonel John Prince – Corps of Signals – Indian Army on Sunday April 24, 2022 to get an insight about the life of an officer in the #Indian Army.

With over 3 decades of #service in various capacities, Colonel John took the students down the memory lane to his early days in forces where he was deputed in #SriLanka as part of the #Indianpeacekeepingforce in #Jaffna.

He also spoke about accomplishing challenging tasks in #Ladakh and other frontiers bordering #China and #Pakistan.

He said, “Indian Army is the safest career option”, while responding to a question from an aspirant about the threat to life in the forces.

The aspirant also pointed that it is one of the reasons why parents are hesitant to send their children to the forces. Giving his own example, he said he has served in most hostile conditions and continues to serve the nation by inspiring young officers by framing war strategies in the #ArmyWarCollege, #Mhow.

As the session progressed, aspirants came out with questions on Armed forces, #patriotism, #politics and #SSB preparation. “More than being a patriot, I feel proud about the uniform that has brought out the best in me,” said Colonel John when asked about the proud moments while serving in the Army.
